Puglia Wine Tour: A Journey for the Senses
If you are looking for a truly unique experience, let us introduce you to the region of Puglia – the heel of the Italian boot, known for its rich history, olive trees, and the longest coastline in Italy. It’s also one of the largest wine-producing regions in the country!
And wine plays a crucial role here because, in cooperation with Le Donne del Vino, a local association of wineries run exclusively by women, we have prepared extraordinary highlights for you and your guests! This organisation, apart from producing excellent wines, empowers the position of women in the wine industry and society, promotes wine culture and encourages responsible consumption.
But let’s start a magical journey across Puglia with a tour of Lecce, a city often referred to as the “Florence of the South” due to its baroque architecture. The city boasts many historical treasures such as Piazza Duomo, a stunning square with a baroque masterpiece: Lecce Cathedral. Another highlight is Piazza San Oronzo, featuring a Roman column and the ruins of a Roman amphitheatre that dates to the 2nd century AD.

With its warm hospitality, vibrant festivals, and delicious cuisine, the town provides a perfect experience for travellers seeking an authentic Italian cultural getaway.

But Puglia has even more hidden gems in store! One of them is Alberobello, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its unique typical houses called "trulli”, which are traditional stone buildings with conical roofs. Some trulli have been converted into shops, cafes, and even accommodations, offering visitors a chance to experience the traditional way of life among fairytale-like architecture.

The icing on the cake is Matera located right next door to Puglia, another place on the UNESCO list, and the European Capital of Culture in 2019. It stands as one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited settlements, with a history spanning over 9,000 years! What also sets Matera apart is its unique setting, as it was originally dug into a canyon.
